Jack & The Rippers auf Wikipedia (oder andere Quellen):
In April 1978 Jack & the Rippers from Geneva recorded ten tracks with Michel Engeli at the THC Studio. All but two songs were own compositions. „Cold Turkey“ by John Lennon and „Automobile“ by Alan Lee Shaw of The Rings were cover versions. A demo tape of these recordings was then released, which additionally included the song „Endless Peace“, in memory of André. On June 7, 1978, they played their last gig - a tribute concert for André - at the Midnight Rambler. Over a year later, on November 26, 1979, Urs Steiger released the first (and only) Jack & The Rippers 7″ single on „Another Swiss Label“, featuring the two songs „No Desire“ and „I Feel Like A Tram.“ A second one, with the tracks „Safe And Secure“ and „Don’t Pretend“, was planned for Christmas of that year. Shortly thereafter, John, Francis and Babine formed a new band called The Zero Heroes; together with Sandro Sursock from the prior Thunderbirds and Bastards.
